Carrie and her daughter Heather learned of the July/August 2010 GO Team that was co-sponsored by BFC Student Ministries and decided to join as a family. Carrie grew up in Africa with missionary parents and lived in Zambia, South Africa, an Botswana. Going to Swaziland was truly a homecoming for Carrie as she returned to Africa for her first time since childhood.
Carrie is a licensed family counselor and works at The Children’s Center in Bethany with a specialty of working with children in trauma. On the GO Team, Carrie worked with the HIV/AIDS Task Force caregivers and gave them tools for working with children suffering from abuse.
There is another reason why Carrie had to visit Africa and fulfill a 27 year desire. Listen to her story.
